PIAZZOLLA100 SCHEDULE & REGISTRATION

The festival takes place in New York City every JUNE. 

In June 2026, the Festival has different locations throughout NYC, including  the KnJ Theater in Union Square, Peridance Center in Union Square, Open Jar in Times Square and at "La Capilla Del Tango" and the Cultural Center on Roosevelt Island.

We encourage everyone to participate by paying or auditing the courses. Students and professionals alike can benefit from our workshops. 

Objectives for music professionals: 

Engage in an authentic tango experience by playing in a typical tango orchestra and small ensembles. Delve into tango from its roots to its evolution.  Benefit from a unique opportunity to perform tango  alongside multigenerational, Argentine, award-winning artists who are the culture bearers of the genre.  Expand your professional knowledge and skills & be prepared to play tango professionally.

Objectives for music students: 

Music students and improve their technique and versatility by leaning more about tango and Piazzolla, whose compositions are a staple of the Classical Music repertoire. Students may also audit the courses if the level of proficiency does not yet allow for performance.

For music students, we require a placement video, so that everyone can be placed in the right group. See the MUSIC PROGRAM page for details.

All classes may be audited, full payment is required to audit classes.

We encourage everyone to participate, from beginners to professional dancers and our music program participants, who wish to expand their dance vocabulary and experience. 

Classes always have at least 2 teachers and additional assistants to accommodate different levels. Our dance education program is built on creating a strong understanding and mastery of tango dance fundamentals and a clear progression to advanced material. We believe that a muligenerational and multilevel learning environment is best for tango - this is how the genre has always been transmitted. We encourage full program participation for a complete cultural experience with practicas, milongas, live music, film and performances. 

Advances dance students have an opportunity to perform with live music!

No. There is no minimum or maximum age requirement.  For music students, basic knowledge and proficiency of your instrument is recommended and a video upload is required for proper placement. 

For underage dance students we strongly recommend coming with a partner or reaching out to us ahead of registration. 

Early registration deadline is June 1st, 2026. We recommend early registration to secure your spot and discounted registration fees. Space in the classes is limited! REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
