OPEN ENROLLMENT - EVERYONE IS WELCOME

We encourage everyone to participate, from beginners to professional dancers and our music program participants, who wish to expand their dance vocabulary and experience.  We believe that a muligenerational and multilevel learning environment is best for tango - this is how the genre has always been transmitted.  Classes always have at least 2 teachers and additional assistants to accommodate different levels.

PROFESSIONAL DANCERS

Anyone interested in auditioning for Nuevo Tango Ballet or any other projects by Nuevo Tango Arts is required to have tango experience. We encourage & support the "study - audition - perform" path for aspiring tango dancers but it all begins with understanding the genre and the culture of tango. Professional dancer discount can be requested by filling out the PROFESSIONAL DANCER DISCOUNT FORM

We encourage full program participation for a complete cultural experience with practicas, milongas, live music, film and performances. Full Dance Program Registrants receive a Certificate of Completion by "Academia Nacional del Tango de Buenos Aires"

June 19-21 Workshops & Events: 

- 12 hours of class, including 1 hour of guided practica with live music 

2 Milongas with Live Music:

- 6 hours of dancing to with live music June 20th & 21st

-2 mini pre-milonga classes 

- June 20th Film Screening of “Un Tal Funes” 

- Certificate of Completion by "Academia Nacional del Tango de Buenos Aires" (For Full Registration Attendees Only)

- Showcase on June 21(Full Registration & Faculty approval required)

Our dance program is built on creating a strong understanding and mastery of tango dance fundamentals and a clear progression to advanced material. Learn solid fundamental technique (great beginners or any level), elevate your tango with more challenging curriculum and take your tango to the milongas or the stage with our Festival Events and Showcase opportunities.

Showcases take place on June 21st and are open to Full Dance Program Registrants with Faculty discretion!

We do not provide dance partners. We strive to have gender balance in each workshop but encourage participants to coordinate registration with partners on their own, especially if you decide to showcase on June 21st.  Partners refer to any 2 people dancing together and filling opposite roles (i.e. lead and follow). 

Please wear clean, appropriate footwear for workshops and milonga! We cannot have streetwear inside any of the dance studios. 

MEN

Tango dance shoes, ballroom shoes, jazz sneaker or clean,  flexible dress shoes with a suede or leather sole

WOMEN

High heel tango dance shoes, ballroom shoes, latin shoes, jazz sneaker or clean, leather/suede soled dress shoes. We recommend having both heels and flats on hand for the workshops
